Tucked away in the forest in Byron Bay, this 2 pavilion house was in desperate need of natural light. You could see trees from every window but no sky, due to the surrounding forest, deep decks and low eaves originally designed to cope with the sub-tropical weather. We added another story to one pavilion and utilised lots of skylights, that create vastly different qualities of ambient light depending on the time of day and room.
